Got Kids? Got iPad? Get Nook Kids for iPad App. Now!
If you have an iPad, and you have young children, you really need to get the NOOK Kids for iPad app. We’ve written before about this app, and the more we learn about it, the more we think it’s one of the best apps of any kind for parents, grandparents and the youngsters in their lives.
NOOK Kids for iPad is a best-in-class app for presenting children’s books. In fact, kids can now explore more than 12,000 chapter books, all of which feature such capabilities as making notes, looking up words and changing the appearance of the text. The books include venerable classics of children’s literature as well as new issues. Improvements in the latest version include a more robust zooming ability and other tweaks that make it perform better.
The app actually makes the iPad function much as the popular Nook Color does when it comes to children’s books. It is high on the interactivity scale and can even read stories to kids, via the aptly named Read to Me feature. Children can even create a personalized NOOK Book collection.
The attractive thing about the NOOK Kids for iPad app, as indeed the Nook Color, is that a family could load up the device with a ton of children’s books to keep the young ones happy in the car or during a rainstorm at the beach. The iPad (or the Nook Color) takes the place of a whole big book bag.
Users downloading the newest version of NOOK Kids for iPad can get two free books with it, Elephant’s Child by Rudyard Kipling and Fun Facts about Pets by children’s science author Seymour Simon.
